中藥治療新發脆弱性骨折的急性疼痛病例報告

Case Report: Pain Relieve of Acute Fragility Fracture by Traditional Chinese Medicine

【摘要】

本病例為一位95 歲的女性，過去並無重大疾病，2018/01/05 因急性背痛約一周來診，疼痛量表(VAS) =10，已使用過西藥止痛藥但效果不佳。檢查發現胸腰椎多節脆弱性骨折，中醫證型為濕熱痹，使用清熱利濕中藥治療。追蹤發現病患服藥後疼痛改善，VAS=2。在新發脆弱性骨折疼痛的病患，如果止痛藥效果不佳，可以嘗試中藥治療來緩解疼痛，傳統中醫辨證論治的止痛效果是可以立即且有效的。

【Summary】

The case to be reported here involved a 95 year-old healthy female who was visited our traditional Chinese medicine clinic on January 5, 2018. She presented to the clinic complaining of low back pain, VAS = 10, about one week earlier. And NSAID was ineffective for her low back pain. The image result showed that there were fragility fracture of multiple vertebral bodies. The concept of traditional chinese medicine of the patient’s symptom is “Dampness-heat Impeding” and this treatment is adjusting the meridian system through “Clear Heat, Drain Dampness” formula. After receiving traditional Chinese mendition treatment, the follow-up result of the Patient revealed that the VAS=2. The acute fragility fractures may cause severe pain. Thus, some medical therapies for treating these pain were proposed, such as NSAID. Through the positive report in this case, we suggest traditional Chinese medicine may be a safer, simpler, cheaper and more effective treatment for severe pain for acue fragility fractue.
